What We Do
Introduction
Our experiences in Mexico, the United States, and Israel have shaped who we are and how we give. Our work honors Moisés Itzkowich's legacy, reflects our values, and represents our vision for the future.
At IFIP, we embrace the varied passions of each family member. We think globally and act locally, applying a clear methodology across countries and causes, united by a common purpose: to provide access and equitable opportunities to marginalized populations.
Our Commitment Areas
Education (Mexico) We promote educational continuity and create pathways for long-term opportunity and development by working to reduce school dropout rates, expand access to educational technology, and strengthen students’ academic preparation. We also improve the broader educational environment to make it more conducive to learning.
Education & Sports (USA) We support programs that use sports as a vehicle for youth development, combining athletic training with academic support, mentorship, and life skills for at-risk and underprivileged youth.
Peace & Shared Education (Israel) We fund programs that create sustained interaction between different religions and communities in Israel through shared learning experiences, academic exchange, and joint initiatives that help participants build relationships and discover common ground.
Employment & EntrepreneurshipDonec (USA) We support job training programs, second-chance employment opportunities, and entrepreneurship initiatives that help underserved individuals achieve financial independence.
Health (USA, Mexico) We support programs that make healthcare accessible to communities facing the greatest barriers.
Basic Needs (Mexico) We support organizations providing food assistance, emergency shelter, clothing, and utility support, connecting immediate relief with longer-term pathways out of poverty.
Democracy and Voting (USA) We support organizations that strengthen democracy by protecting voting rights, expanding ballot access, ensuring election integrity, and working toward more representative government.
Free Information & Media (USA) We support independent media outlets that provide trustworthy journalism, hold power accountable, and create platforms for civic engagement.
Human Rights (USA) We support organizations fighting to end systemic inequality and protect basic human rights globally through policy change, legal action, and grassroots movements.
Intergenerational (USA) We support co-located, intentional programs that inspire individuals of all ages to form meaningful connections, discover commonalities, and learn from each other's experiences through shared living and community structures.
Community Strengthening (Mexico) We support programs within our Social Hubs that strengthen community bonds through civic participation, local leadership development, and cultural programming that celebrates local identity and builds collective resilience.
Institutional Capacities & Organizational Strengthening (USA, Mexico) We invest in building stronger nonprofit organizations through multi-year organizational development, strategic planning support, and access to professional expertise that helps them grow their impact and sustain their work.
Coexistence (Israel) We support initiatives that bring together different religions and communities in Israel to share their historical, personal, and national narratives. Through dialogue and storytelling, we believe that hearing each other's experiences is a meaningful step toward a more peaceful future.
Where We Work
United StatesDonor-Driven RFP Partnerships
In the United States, our giving is shaped by the philanthropic interests of our donors. Each year, donors identify the causes closest to their hearts, and IFIP translates those interests into targeted Request for Proposals (RFPs) open to nonprofit organizations nationwide.
Selected partners receive funding tied directly to their proposed projects, ensuring transparency and measurable impact. Throughout the gift cycle, partners submit operating reports so we can track progress and assess results together.
Because our donors' interests evolve, our RFPs do as well. Not every category opens annually, so we encourage nonprofits to stay connected for updates on upcoming opportunities.
Israel Peace ProjectsShared Learning & Coexistence Partnerships
We believe understanding across difference is essential to peace, and that shared experiences are the most powerful tools for building it.
We fund nonprofits working in two interconnected areas: Shared Learning creates multicultural exchange opportunities, and Coexistence supports reconciliation through sharing historical, personal, and national narratives. Together, these efforts break down stigma and build genuine understanding for generations to come.
MexicoSocial Hubs (Hubs sOSCiales)
At Fundación Moisés Itzkowich, we operate an ecosystem‑building model in Mexico designed to address the root causes of poverty. Central to this approach are Social Hubs—intentionally designed networks of interconnected organizations that we strengthen over a nine‑year process.
We begin by identifying the most underserved regions and partnering with organizations deeply rooted in their communities. These organizations enter a structured strengthening process, progressing through phases of development. The strongest emerge as hub leaders—much like nurse trees in a forest—supporting the growth of other organizations around them.
Through community‑led participatory diagnosis, we identify local priorities and invite additional actors to join the effort. Together, they form a collaborative ecosystem capable of achieving outcomes greater than any single organization could accomplish alone. After 9 years, these ecosystems develop the capacity to sustain themselves.
